I had an unexpected encounter on a Monday afternoon.
While i was queuing up at the interchange in one of the berth towards Yishun Interchange, a teenage boy came forward to ask me a question,"what bus can go yishun ar?" Without hestitation I answered,"852 can go ar.."
At first i thought he is just asking for directions as he is unfarmiliar with bukit batok, but what shocked me immediately was: he actually knew the answer to his qn and carry on telling me that 852 goes towards bt timah den to yishun. It was den i realised he is not really a normal child.
From then onwards, he keeps talking to me and during the journey till he alight. He asked for my name, where im heading to, which part of the place i stay and etc. I am feeling more upset den irritated because there is nothing wrong with his behaviour and mindset, but only he talks to himself and ppl around him.
I admit that i tried to ignore him as far as possible when he calls out to me, and i even plugged in earphones to initiate that im listening to music and playing phone. But he tapped on me when i didnt repond just to tell me the SMRT bus conductor just boarded the bus and is going to check our cards-by pointing to the man in red smrt shirt.
I felt a sudden mix feelings looking at his innocent and cheerful face and felt sad for the parents.
There is nothing we can do but to smile back at them...
